Super American Eagle is a new group consisting of Dandy Warhols drummer Brent DeBoer (who is based
in Melbourne), longtime Courtney Barnett drummer Dave Mudie and DeBoer’s Immigrant Union
bandmate, guitarist Bob Harrow. SAE formed on a trip to New York just prior to the pandemic, when the
trio played an impromptu Immigrant Union show as a three-piece. They enjoyed playing together so much
they decided to start a band.
The band, which sees DeBoer behind the kit, Mudie move to bass and Harrow on guitar and vocals, have
now released their debut single ‘Yes’. It’s a frenetic, fuzzed-out cut that brings together elements of noise
rock, pysch, shoegaze and sludge that starts off with a bang and doesn’t pull back, ending in a wailing,
foot-stomping jam.
